deer hunting over other things in life
#11
You mean there is more to life than hunting[
]
I don' t give up a hunt for a night out with the boys, I reserve that for when the wife needs TLC
. I hunt as much as I can but I also realize that I must still do other things, keep the home fire lit and so on. When I was younger with less responsibility hunting is all I did, my motto was " Don' t ask, don' t bother me...I am hunting!!" So I think since your young and able go hard, keep the priorities in check like school & chores for mom and dad. Lots of time for I can' t go when you get older, so enjoy and do what makes you happy.

well for me first is my wife. If she lets me, not really but I cannot forget about her. If I do neglect her too much then I hear about it. But I don' t blame her as I don' t want to take advantage of her or make her feel bad. Next thing I have to worry about is my pain. I was in a car accident last november on thanksgiving day and am still in a lot of pain. I am back to work but only part time for now. I got nerve damage in my right arm/should are and lower back nerve damage so that does slow me down. My wife does get on me for trying to push it too much as she hears me complain about the pain I am in. So she tells me to stop hunting and relax. I am kind of stubborn and sneak out sometimes but I do pay for it.
But my wife is good about me hunting as she likes me to get a deer or a couple of them because she likes to eat them too.

Since this is my second year back hunting in at least 10 years, it' s high on my list. I still have to work and take care of the family, but I spend a great deal of time hunting. I plan to be in the woods this afternoon.

From September thru January all I think about is hunting .If I am not on stand I am thinking about it. I make sure the kids and hubby are fed and clothed. The house can go to h***. I am telling you sometimes I think my husband regrets ever introducing me to this great lifestyle.

I' m pretty much dedicated to hunting every chance I get, but I do have a trip to baltimore planned with the guys. Yea I know right in the middle of the rut. But if I can' t shoot a buck with having hunted every day of the season except 4 when its all said and done, then I can accept that. My baltimore outing isn' t going to be the reason I haven' t shot a buck.

My serious hunting phase is about to begin - Archery rolling into Shotgun. I only have to work 2 days from today until Nov. 20th. (Damn ungrateful boss!lol)
My 40th birthday is Sunday 11/2...My 19 wedding anniversary in Monday 11/3...I' ll be hunting both those days. I' m taking HelGa out for dinner tonight to satisfy that concern...then it' s pure hunting.

Every year I tell myself I am going to go out in my stand at least once a weekend, but it never happens. I have a family and I put them first no matter what, they are my life. NOW my friends wanting me to do something is different. I enjoy hunting to much and if I have a free Saturday to hunt then I am hunting.
