Night Time Bedding
As some of you may be aware, I recently took 23 acres out of crop rotation at my farm and placed into CRP. This I feel may have taken away some of the local herds night time bedding area. As a substitute, I placed a 2-3 acre cover field directly in the middle of the effected area. This area provides good visibility to the surrounding areas and adjacent water source.
My question is this.....How important is night time bedding, is that enough space and is their anything I could do to make this area better or more attractive?

My club has about 35 acres in CRP. The deer use the CREP fields as a bedding area all the time. There are soybeans and corn on land neighboring our club grounds and we have woods and deep tree lines as well. If you have clover in the center of CRP grass you have a food source and a bedding area close together.
