Hunting swamp islands
I have a pc. of land to hunt that is 80% floodedtimber which is dotted with hardwood islands. I have taken a few bucks by setting up where their trails reach the high ground in route to the field, but I have not set up on any of the islands. Has anyone got any tips for this type of hunting? Any help would be appreciated. Tony

Thanks for replying rack assasin, I think I know just where to set up at. I found an islandthat is just a jungle of briars and under brush. There are 2 main trail that lead to this spot and judging by the direction of the few rubs that I have found, I think that I know which of the 2 is the morning trail. I am going to hang a stand where I can watch this trail and get in there plenty early. Tony

I' ve never tried it but it has been suggested that you cut paths out from your stand site. This gives you shooting lanes if the deer get up to move during the day.
