Annoying new hunter questions...
#41

One thing I would like to add if it hasn't been said already: make sure you dress in appropriate layers. The last thing you want is to be cold and stiff (or worse, having left for home to unthaw) when that big buck walks out. For instance, during the late season mornings toward the end of December, I first put on a layer of Under Armor, then camo pants and dark sweatshirt, then my insulated coveralls. Oh, and a blaze orange vest and hat, but that goes without saying. That usually keeps me acceptably warm in all but the coldest conditions, and it's easy enough to slip off the coveralls and carry them if I start feeling too warm. What you choose to wear will depend on how cold it gets in your area, so pay close attention to the weather reports before hunting.
