CWD in Wisconsin
are there any hunters out there that were scared off from hunting due to the CWD found in the southern region of the state? I hunt in northern wisconsin, so it didnt bother me, but i' ve heard stories that people didn' t hunt because of it. also now the DNR or whoever are paying hunters $400 for every deer they kill that tests positive for Cwd. if i lived down there id be hunting every day! Free Money!

I hunt over in the midwest around pepin and buffalo so it does not affect my area. I hope it does not scare to many people off. I mean they can harvest the deer and donate it or process it yourself and put it in the freazer until you get the results. I am with you, If I lived down their I would definately be doing a lot more hunting.

Ya Hey Der! I hunt in norther WI and wasn' t too worried about CWD. I did however keep an eye on the results the DNR got just to see what was happening. This year it' ll be like uncle ted sez. Track em, whack em, and stack em. I didn' t realize you got a free Zone T and ended up with 2. Last time that happened it was the very first year of zone T and I tagged out. As far as donating the meat for hunters for the hungry I was talking to a friend today and he had heard that the pantrys had a hard time last year getting rid of the venison because people were scared of CWD. I think they just couldn' t handle not getting beef. BTW what area do you hunt?

The hunter gets $200. The landowner gets $200. If the landowner kills one on his property, he gets $400. Thats for a positive. All the rest are $20. Guess thats suppose to stir landowners into allowing the public access to private property.
