One fatality ..... fall from a tree stand. No safety harness. There were 12 other falls reported but all injuries reported were relatively minor. And in every case .... you guessed it .... no harness being used.
For the first time I can recall, not a single fatality related to firearm or other hunting weapon fatality. There were 3 fire arm related injuries reported. Two were self inflicted, minor injuries and one was due to ruptured gun barrel. A 20 ga. shell was "stuck" in 12 ga. shotgun. Hunter did not know and fired the 12 ga. during a dove shoot. Again, and luckily, only minor injuries.
Much, much better than last year. Hopefully turkey season turns out as accident free !!

I doubt any action of man will see full time safety. For years I've seen accidents reported. Most are the lack of safety equipment of part time climbers and non attention to details.
The best you can do is not make the same mistake. And some part time climbers will make mistakes.
