Default Euro Mount

What is a fair price for a euro mount? I'm doing a couple for a buddy.

I WOULD SAY 200-400 or so.are you just boiling it or are you gonna bleach it also? will you put it on a plaque? cost of plaque can change overall cost. really depends on quality of job you do.

Charge him $200-$400 for a euro mount? A professional taxidermist or skull business charge around $150-$200 for a deer head, and that probably includes a plaque on the upper end price.

Boiling and bleaching cost is not that much. A nice hardwood plaque is not alot of $ either if you go to the right sources.

If I was doing it for my "buddy" I'd do it for free (or a case of beer, or whatever). He'll do you a favor someday. I've done several for friends over the years. If they want it on a nice plaque, I tell them to order one.

Most around here go for 125$. For a buddy I'd charge 75$. Some places include the plaque but most will charge extra for that. If ya find someone paying 400$ send them my way. A shoulder mount cost 400$ here.

I think I would have settled the price before I even agreed to do them for him. It really depends on whether you are doing it to make money or if you have the time to spend and money is not really the motive to do it. I just did a mule deer and an antelope and it's not so much the cost of the materials, but more the time it takes if you do them right. He'd have to be a very good buddy before I'd do them from the boiling through to completion for less than $75 each and then add in a nice plaque for each of them like the hardwood oak ones I used for both of mine and you have another $75.

I have had a few done here in Vermont. They are done with dermestid beetles. The skull is then degreased and bleached with peroxide. I am charged $130, no plaque.

Sounds good. I'll take 75 for a buddy. Doing it all except plaque. He can get one himself! Lol.
