Well if it makes you feel any better, twice in the last 3 years, I' ve had prior engagements until about 10 pm. Left then and drove the 5 hours it takes me to get to where I hunt, just in time to grab some breakfast and off to the stand I go. By 10:00 AM I was outta there & off to lala land though...

If I can get a minimum of 5 hrs of sleep before a hunt I' m good to go. I' d rather be sleepy than hungover. That' s got to be the worst.

It does' nt matter how ready you think you are, half way there you always remember something you forgot or didn' t do. If you' re worried about falling asleep, try stringing coke cans with rocks in them across the deer trail, that should wake you up

I think I may be at the other extreme..... My wife swears I have OCD.

If I' m not ready at least 3 days before a hunt I get all shook up> LOL

I think you way is a lot less stressful...... just enjoy and good luck!

i have the exact oposite problem, i am kept up at night thinking of things i need to get ready weeks prior to the opener. I think you may have lost sight of the main goal. Life is all about hunting! just keep that in mind
