Default Hoping the recent strong winds help out.

Firearms season starts tomorrow in Indiana. The last couple days have been above average temps (high 40's- mid 50's) but we have had sustained winds of 20 mph and gust up to 40 mph. Today the winds were still constant around 15 plus. The winds are supposed to die down over night tonight and its supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow morning. I'm hoping the winds have kept them hunkered down the last couple days and they will ready to get up and moving more in the morning with the cool temps and calm conditions.

Well in those temps, i'm thinking the bucks are fine? When it gets -0 i know they hunker down a bit, not much tho if it's during the Rut. They are moving big time and breeding in Wisconsin, heck, i've heard them breeding by my stand, and it's been real warm here. When it's the RUT, it don't matter what the weather does, from the key deer in Florida to the Alberta White-Tail, the rut happens, get out there and hunt bud.

I suspect Mother Nature has helped you with this seasons hunting catch! With any additional luck, those whitetail deer will be exhausted from the wind and be easy game!

Been real windy here in Michigan too the last 2 days (Thursday and Friday) and the deer have been going about there normal business all thru it but are a bit on the jumpy side. Every falling branch will send them off at a good clip. Even some of the blowing leaves have the fawns jumping and running.
