Kinda yes and kinda no there oldtimr. Remember, older bucks have that "beer gut" and a sway to them. If it was a hard winter, they may or may not have that particular age identifier. They may also have lost some muscle mass in a hard winter making them look a little "sleeker" and younger than what they actually are. Not really having that "bull dog" look to them if you know what I mean.

We did have a couple bad winters back-to-back. But the deer seem pretty healthy now. I have seen a couple of pretty portly bucks already (see pic of the 8-pointer). Over the winter, we put out many bales of alfalfa so they hopefully went into the spring in decent shape.
