we count them by points here , and that' s a good point midnight dj but , i think we should also get a measurement like they do so we can class it as well , it also seems more impressive that way

Here in NV we just count on one side, ex 4 pt, and sometimes both sides if they are different, ex 3 x 4. We don' t count brow tines on deer here because the regs say not to for tag punching. A lot of mule deer dont have brow tines that are even measurable anyway, I think that is the reason the regs are like that.

rt side lt side (5 x 5) and the rough score, is how the guys I hang with call em' . This way you know if I say I saw a 5x5 that is a 150 class, exactly what I am talking about. A 5 x5 alone doesn' t accurately depict the picture as he could be 110 immature buck or a 180 trophy class.

Everything I' ve read says to state the total points. So 3 on one side and 5 on the other would be an 8 pointer. I think the 4 x 4 saying comes from mulie or elk hunters. Last year I got myself a beauty 10 pointer (perfect 5 x 5 tines)
