IMHO you should have kept what you did to yourself. It's possible some nimrod will see that picture, not read the followup posts as to the spacing and where to put them, and then something may happen if he's heavier than you are, etc. I just can't see doing what you did to save 2#. If that's all you saved, I would just exercise a little more and carry that little bit of extra weight knowing that the stand is up to the manufacturer's design standards that have to meet certain safety codes. As the other member stated, it's your life with that stand, but my worry is as stated above if someone else does it and doesn't know what they're doing. That's why I stated I think you should have just kept it your own little secret.

How does a 180 lb hunter wind up with a 35 lb. tree stand?
They must have built that one for a 350 lb. hunter.

I believe with climbing deer stands cheap usually equals heavy..lol
I just needed a cheap one to use around the house and up at the archery only WMA up the road...
