i agree with the other posters, deer will usually work back around to where you ran them off if you didnt spook them too bad. Id try to get in position to catch them coming back with the wind in my favor and give them an hour or so.

Easing into and out of an area where you are trying to hunt white tail deer requires that you play the wind as best you can so as to not stink up the area. Maybe you did that and just happened to step in there amoungst 'em .... twice. As far as after that pile of does busted, you'd be lucky to have a clue where they ran off to .... they may have spooked off a mile or more before settling down.
