Marlin 1894s in 44 mag. Just used it the first time this past season for something different. I missed, but it wasn't the gun's fault.

I sometimes use a Winchester 94 in 30-30 for hunting deer in the thick stuff. Also use it for hunting hogs during the off season. It's accurate, light weight, and hits hard, a good combination.

I already posted earlier on this topic. But every year we have snowgeese on the wheat and they will decimate a field of wheat on short order, so we have to shoot them off the fields, just harassment to keep them moving, perfectly legal and I have been using my 94 30-30 and it is a sweet shooting little rifle. It really feels good to get it in your hands occasionally like in March and fire several rounds each week. It gives me an opportunity to keep new ammo on hand also.

If im "brush" hunting i carry the 30-30 lever action MArlin but other than that i prefer to use the .270 for longer range and of course the 12 ga. slugs for down south

Savage 99 take-down featherweight in .300 Savage. Built in 1928. still works beautifully in 2002!
