.270 just because of cartridge availability and selection of bullets. If you are near several big gun shops you might not have that problem.

I have a Tikka T3 in 25-06. I love it. The action is slick as glass and it's an absolute tack driver. Love this caliber for deer also. Low recoil but hammers deer.

hard to go wrong with either.

I might want a 24" barrel on a 25.06 not sure what the tikka has...?

I think I'd want the .270 w/ 130gr.

Most 25/06 I handled had 24" barrels. I use 120grain in the 25/06. I use 150 in the 270.
