bucksbuddy, I had a bird land on me one time. I thought that was pretty funny and I kept as still as I could to see how long it would stay there. Well I guess I wasn' t still enough or it heard me breathing or something because it flew away within a few seconds. Nature.....you gotta love it! -- CDH

bucksbuddy, that' s pretty cool! I love nature. On a few occasions I' ve had a hawk flying at me about ready to attack. HAHAHA......wait!! That wasn' t funny, scared the hell out of me. It is neat to be so close to wildlife and not disturb them though.

Out bowhunting about 10 years ago, I had a porcupine crawl down a tree that brought him to within about 2-3 feet of my treestand. When he got to eye level with me, he stopped and locked eyes with me - saw me standing there with a broadhead-tipped arrow in my hand ready to make a shish-ka-bob out of him. He put his butt into overdrive to get to the ground, hit the ground running and scurried out of sight. He looked kind of cute - almost like a monkey with bed of nails strapped to his back.

Another time out bowhunting, I had a large owl fly into my tree and land about 5' from me on a branch, facing straight away. He turned his head 180* toward me, locked eyes and as soon as I blinked he took off screaming his head off until he was out of sight.

Saw a lone doe stumble and fall over a log once - she got up and looked around - as if she was embarassed and thinking to herself " Gee... I hope none of my friends saw that."

On a deer hunt when I was a kid a chickadee landed on my dads cap bill and and " leaned" down and looked at his face then flew away. It was pretty funny
