Default Is my buck a 6 point or an 8?

this buck is what he is.... but i just wanted to know if the main beams always count as a point. Since his main beams are broken just past the g3's i wasnt sure what to call him

Screw the point counting.

I call him a damn nice deer, a fine trophy, many pounds of great meat, and his rack will be a treasured trophy!

Congratulations

Yea, broken where it is I'd call him a 6pt. But he's a nice buck either way!

That boy has been fighting.
I'd call him an 8 pointer with an attitude.

To me it is a 6. However it's a darn nice buck and has a lot of character. Congrats!

Does it really matter? Would a couple of inches of bone make him any more special? Will the meat taste any better or worse? Would it prevent you from filling your tag? Every game animal is special and every one is unique in its own way.

As far as I am concerned, that buck is perfect because he is as nature decided he will be.
