Anyone seeing signs of the rut kicking off in va? I'm hunting in Augusta and haven't seen much yet. Shot a little 6 that was with another small buck last week.

Here in southwest va they started chasing around Monday... only seeing small bucks pestering the does during the day but some real giants at night... swollen and ready to bread. Tuesday the wind kept them all bedded down.. Now its calm and back on again.. Shot an 8 pointer today but he wasn't that big.. no big bucks in daylight hours yet. Now is the time to be in the woods!!

Not much going on here as far as chasing goes in the southern part of the state. Starting to see a few more scrapes and rubs pop up in the last couple days.

Two doe in field last night but no big boys watchin

shot a nice 8pt yesterday at 5pm in a fresh cut bean field that was full of deer. saw 20 deer and 9 different bucks. shot the biggest that was in the field and my biggest to date.
