Pretty hard for anybody to argue with those kind of results.

Heaven forbid, if something ever happened and I was only allowed to have one rifle, it would be a .243win. After all of the whitetails I've taken with different cartridges over the years, I'm more and more convinced every year that the .243win is the optimum whitetail cartridge.

Sure, it's light for elk (not legal for elk in many states), but that's not part of my consideration.

I own the 750 woods master. 1" groups at 100 yards. I'm impressed with the accuracy.

I use a Browning A-bolt Hunter in a .243 using Hornady 100 grain Custom Bullets,sporting a Leupold Rifelman matte-black scope in 3X9X40mm Recticle.

It's a great accurate Rifle with plenty of knock down power and less recoil.Ive taken down several nice Bucks and many Mature Does with it over the past several years!

I have a M77 Compact .243 -awesome little rifle. My kids love it and have shot a pile of deer with it, all dead w/ 100gr core locks.

Most of my life, I felt like you needed more than a .243 - have to admit, I was wrong. For deer sized game...doesn't get much better than that. Almost no recoil, ammo real easy to find. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one. In most cases, for hunting under 200yds... .243 is a great fit. They are just as dead as the guy with a .30-06, 7mm mag, or .300 mag. And way easier on the shoulder and wallet.

7mm-08, .260 rem... also great rounds. I got a .260 this year...can't wait to shoot some with it. To me, its just about the perfect overall cartridge for deer hunting

Since I can't find any .308 ammo, I'm having to use my .243 to hunt deer this weekend. IN the past, I've only used it for coyotes. I'm glad I found this thread - makes me feel better using a .243 now.

I have a Rem 700 .243 with a bell and carlson stock that I scored on gunbroker a few years ago. It will be eventually be my sons but I love carrying it and shooting it. Taken many deer with it......
