Default Deer Coming Back to Spot after Seeing Me

Tonight I was hunting a field corner that has a wood's road leading into it that is heavily traveled by deer and had three deer come up behind me right at the end of shooting light. Only two came out of the woods, one was about 30-40 pounds and the second was slightly bigger but not much. These two were within ten yards of me and there was a larger doe about 30 yards into the woods I could barely make out.

After a truck came down the road that borders the other end of the field, the larger fawn and the doe in the woods spooked and ran back into the woods but the small fawn stayed around for a half hour and got within five yards of me and was stomping and snorting at me (I was hunting on the ground in a quickly thrown together natural blind) before it walked casually back into the woods about 10 yards away.

I would like a shot at the larger doe that I have on camera and was trying to see if anyone thinks this spot is ruined after the fawn saw me. It was a really near experience being that close to an animal and not having it bolt.

Also, with the rut around the corner, is it wise to be going after does?

Thanks for any help.

I guess it would depend on if you need the meat right now or not. I like to wait a little later in the season before shooting a doe. They make good decoys until then. HD.

The field I hunt in covers up with does every evening.. At dark I have to walk along the edge of the field to get back to the road to get out.. Some of the deer just stand there and some run.. They always come right back the next evening though. I find when rifle season starts most of them will start coming out only after it gets dark but I guess that's just a product of people shooting at them all the time. I actually spooked 4 does today that came up to my shack about 4 30.. at 7 they walked right back out in front of me.

I personally do not shoot at any does until the rut is done and over with.. You never know which one of them does are going to have that buck of a lifetime following her into the field during the rut. If your hungry though shoot one... can't eat the horns anyways!
