Life is good...Our archery season starts in early September, gun middle October and for years the limit was 6...A few years back the rules were changed were you could buy doe tags, 2 deer for $10...We have 3 farms and raise peanuts, corn, wheat, beans and cotton so we simply have to keep the population down if we are going to raise decent crops...

I eat deer meat and seldom kill more than a buck or two a year, I prefer does...

When we started harvesting more does years ago we also started seeing more bucks and bigger bucks...I had finally convinced my brothers to quit killing small bucks...I could care less what the younger hunters kill but a mature hunter here in NC needs to be killing 2-4 does to every buck he takes...

Come on up to Wisconsin. My area is unlimited doe tags. Used to be free. I think they're 3 bucks a piece now.
