if you have any Ag fields or food plots I would sit on them as well. I get pictures of does and fawns at all different times of the day hitting our plots.

I have found that does will often move later in the day than do bucks, especially compared to mature bucks .... so don't give up too soon in the a.m. I have killed plenty of does in the 10:00 a.m. - Noon time frame.

Find the food sources, learn about oaks...Deer here in NC hit chestnut oaks first as they hit the ground first...They prefer white oaks and pin oaks but will also eat chestnuts and red...

No doubt about it if you find the hot food source you should not you should not have any trouble finding the doe's. Good Luck

Any recommendations on that fawn in distress call? Which one is best?

I'm doing the same thing in three weeks and would love to better guarantee my success.

Ill ask my father on which one he has it seemed to work pretty good from what i seen. Now if you use one there are certain things you gotta keep in mind.

1. If you use the call as a distressed fawn you are gonna get mommas coming in fast and on high alert. Doesnt matter if she had a fawn that year or not they are naturals for fawn protection. So if you are bow hunting they will not stay long and will be on the move to the area of the sound and on in search of the fawn. Last season my father about 300 yards from me with the xbow did this and seen 4 does withing 15 minutes from different directions but where moving too fast and not near close enough for me to get a shot.

2. You can expect the possible visit from a predator especially yotes if you have them in the area. The noise attracts them as well so use it wisely because if you are hoping for buck or doe at that time and a yote comes in it may spook everything. As said it may be something to give a shot just before heading out of the woods for lunch or something just to see what may come in.
