Default THE HUNTERS JOURNAL TV SHOW

JUST GOT DONE WATCHING THE TV SHOW " THE HUNTERS JOURNAL" ON THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL. THEY WERE FIREARM HUNTING FOR DEER IN SOUTHERN ILLINIOS. LAST TIME I CHECKED THIS STATE WAS A SHOTGUN, MUZZLELOADER, HANDGUN ONLY STATE, WELL ALL THE HUNTERS WERE USING CENTERFIRE FIREARMS, AND THEY WERE HUNTING AT A PLACE CALLED " SAMSON RIDGE" BREAKING THE LAW BIG TIME IN MY EYES

Samsons ridge is a VERY EXPENSIVE high fence whitetail ranch so they dont have to follow state season regulations. Its sad that so many shows are going to this kind of hunting, I guess its more about the money to show bigger bucks, but personnally Id rather see some smaller, more realistic bucks taken in fair chase huntig conditions and possibly even on public property, but thats just my opinion.

How many of these tv " hunters" would be able to actually take game in fair chase conditions though. I dont think i would make a tv show of me shooting at fenced in animals or as i call them, pets. but yeah, id rather see them trying for smaller animals in real conditions, maybe even show them miss. make it real.
Thats it!, Im just gonna make my own hunting show of me falling asleep and missing and getting deer in real conditions, if nothin else it will be entertaining!

I have seen a few shows that hunt high fence ranches and they otta be ashamed of themselves. If you ask me all ranches are a place for lazy fools to go shoot a deer and give us hunters as bad name. The best way to fight them is to not buy goods they advertise and not watch the show itself.

They should change the name of the show to the " Shooter' s Journal" . Not much hunting goes on in this show.

I guess some people just get to hunt once a year and want a guaranteed hunt when they go. It' s certainly not for me to hunt in a fence but so be it. It sucks that a TV show films in a fenced area though. That certainly makes it looks easy and makes the host look as if he is the great white hunter when they probably couldn' t hunt down flys to kill in the real world. My 2 cents worth. -- CDH
