with small acreage, hard to compete with neighboring fields as far as food plots go,
first i would try not to spook the deer currently using your land,
if you are going to grow a food plot,
think of something different than whats growing in fields nearby,
if neighbors are growing corn, think of planting alfalfa/chickory/clover etc..
or oats for late season
something different that will keep them coming to your land on their way to/from the major food sources.
deer will choose a path if there is something tasty along the way.
can even add mineral licks along the route(keeping it legal of course)

Yeah, I just bought a few new cams, I'm wanting to get more serious about hunting, I'm only 19 and wanting to start a hunting club, and go to school to be a guide so one day I'll have a hunting outfit business of my own

Would it have been possible to get hunting rights from the folks you sold the land to, as part of the sale? Otherwise, your at the mercy of the new owners, and everything will depend on how that land will be used (or not) by them.
As mentioned, just start with a couple of trail cams, and play it by ear from there.

We have about 35 acres, but only about 15 acres holds deer. Plant food plots and maybe create some trails leading from the plots. If there is enough sun on the trail, hit it with roundup and then rake in some food plot seed on the trail itself. Then stay on the edges - it is easy to push them out.
