Default Last day of deer season...... Need some advice

I need to start planning for next year, so I need some advice. Today was last day of the season here in sc . Yesterday morning as I walked to the stand I jumped two deer. I hunt as mall block of hardwoods that's beside some little pines. So what I figure is the deer come to the corn pile at night, eat then bed down about 30 - 40 yards from the corn pile . My stand is on the edge of the hardwoods. So from the house to get to the stand I have to walk across the block of hardwoods. I have tried moving the stand to the path that I walk into the woods at, but the deer come in too late to see anything. Any advice on what I should do?

Well you can move your corn fartger from where they bed to give you a buffer zone. Also getting in the stand while its still dark and upwind of them will help dont let terrain dictate your movement walk in what ever way will not give away your position and entry.

What does bow hunting have to do with the previous post?

Default Bow range

It has to do with it because my maximum range with the bow is 30 yards. The corn pile is 30 yards away from the stand

You can move the corn and the stand away from the bedding area and catch them comming into feed. Id recommend 200-250 yrds away from bedding area. Then set your stand up 30 yrds from the corn again. Best thing about it is that you get to choose your shooting lanes.

Good luck

Default Niccum has it

Get into your stand earlier and wait.
Take more time to get to your stand.
Do Not let terrain dictate your entry. Navigate terrain with time as a factor.

Moving your 'corn pile' is another good idea but I wouldn't do that too far. Deer will simply visit the pile earlier in the morning if it's beyond their 'comfort zone' so close to when they expect predators.

YMMV.
