I have a hunting lease right now as well. You really need to have everything i writing. Our lease aggrememnt says we are allowed to use the land for any legal activity except logging, mining, or anything else that will destroy the land. I would assume this is probably the same for you but the problem is if you have nothing in writing then you legally have to right to be in there. I would definitely ask first. If you have any doubt in your mind that he might say no then that is even more reason to ask. But definitely mention that you are taking your niece.... it will make him feel bad if is thinking of saying no.
