Need some clarifying on wind/Deer Travel
I have read that Deer always travel downwind. With the wind. Been doing some more reading and it seems like not everyone believes this is true. I just want some clarification. Setting up stands this week so is it best to set up stand with wind in my face ?
After posting this, I shoulda knew better. I walk outside my house. No wind. My neighbor is about 90 yards from me smoking a cigar and I can smell him without even knowing he's there. So I guess I answered my own question.

Your on track. A deer going up or down wind only will run out of room eventually!they use it to their advantage when they can. Having as you say wind in your face on stand if your downwind of where you expect deer works for me.
Just expect approaching animals from down wind behind you too.

As monoped said, they use it to their advantage when they can. In the 30+ yrs of deer hunting I have seen deer walk in every type of wind direction that they can. I even posted a bit a while back just to pacify a buddy on a conversation that we had to the same topic.
The biggest thing that I can tell as will others who may reply is that if you can plan ahead and make the stand set up with the possible wind that you may encounter during your hunting time, North, North/West here in Illinois for our gun season, you will be ahead a bit more than if you didn't. \
The other big thing is be as scent free as possible. You know what you have to do to accomplish that.
