A comment on solid copper "slugs". While searching for a bullet and powder charge that would group well out of my ML, I tried out a solid copper Barnes muzzle loader bullet. Which is close to a 12 ga. slug (sort of). Any way, these have been absolutely excellent as far as clean kills ... from very close out to my longest shot (so far) of about 140 yards. So, if you can get a solid copper to group well, it should do a fine job of clean killing. And as another has mentioned, the rifled "slug gun" barrels are not intended for use with "rifled" slugs. I sort of assumed that was common knowledge.
