You say you can't approach the deer.
I can't post picks, but I'm going to mail pictures, yes plural, pictures of people, children walking up to wild deer and petting them and hand feeding them. These are wild deer.No one see's a problem here?
I just don't think it's healthy to do this.Just my opinion mind you.

Greets,
Well I have often wondered about this subject, I can see an advantage to feeding in the manner that Cardeer and acouple others have said they do. So long as A: they are willing to continue every year, unless the deer become tame to people. and B: The Deer are not getting too used to human contact, I:E the pics you are sending of people hand feeding them. My VERY uneducated opinion would be in the case that that begins to happen, that either the feeders get tapered off gradually, giving the deer time to reaclimate to foraging, and / or some sort of operation is started to keep the deer afraid of humans. ( some thing legal and humane but that would make the deer afraid of human contact. )

Just my uneducated opinion!
Terry

Canadahunter, Question are those deer hunted hard by 100's of people? The deer I'm talking about have hunters chasing them from Sept to January.I think your huntin season in canada isnt that long and correct me if I'm wrong but the amount of hunters per acre is not near as high as in Pa.Here on a saturday huntin You can see 5 deer and 50 hunters.Thats the scenerio here,Im speaking of.These deer spook when a little bird flys buy.
