Default Of hats and Boots...

It has been often asked, recently on this forum in the context of something else, why the TV hunting "stars" wear cowboy hats. I can answer that.

Some do because of where they live or were raised. For example, Mark Kayser is from the Dakotas-cowboy country. Weishune is from Texas-cowboy country. The rest do because they think it makes them look like hunters and cowboys.

Of interest. I was raised in Texas, moved to Wyoming and spent over a quarter century in professional rodeo. Through my entire time in outdoor television and the industry, I neaver wore a cowboy hat or cowboy boots. In fact, usually, the only hat I ever wore was one someone made me wear. I suspect that is why I was never a "star".

On a side note and unrelated, how did the hunt in Notasulga go?

See the original thread-Sorta glad...I updated it. Good to get back down there and the fish were biting, too.
