Default deer reaction to being shot ?

my father shot a buck , w/ 3006 150 grn core locts, he took a 80 yard sh0t . we picked up blood after 60 yards , he said when he hit it it it jumped 4=5 feet in the air , it then took off and we were finding blood , drops , not a lot , but every 20 ft or so, no evidance of the buck draging its foot, and it had some whits about him he walked the ledge of a small cliff until he found a break to get down the blood was dark, no stoumuch stuff, and eventuallly the blood couldnt be found? what do yaal think, im thinkig a graze , gut shot, or a leg wound .

Dark blood usually means liver. Fatal shot, but tough to find with that kind of blood you found. Good luck.

"he said when he hit it it it jumped 4=5 feet in the air"
That usually indicates a pretty good hit.
