I have taken out a few calls for the early bow season, all with NO luck. I bought a highly recommended fawn bleat call,i was in my ground blind early opening morning and had 6 deer coming in. The deer where about 150-175 yards away in an open bean field. I blew my fawn bleat and almost instantly the deer looked up and stomped a little and ran for the hills. To me the call sounds more like a deer being killed by a coyote. I would say just weight for the pre rut- to early rut time. Deer are more worried about food at this point.
Good luck.

I agree, It's always seemed to do more harm than good. i do carry my predator calls with me if i want to stay late and call some yotes.
