My 1st deer

Default My 1st deer

Took down this doe tonight. Was in a tree stand and she was +-75ft away. Did not weigh but estimate at 90lbs. (Looks smaller than she really is on the pic) Not huge, but I am happy for my first one.

For those interested: Used an Excalibur Phoenix, Firebolt carbon arrow with Excalibur Boltcutter 150 grain broadhead.

No, that was just to bleed her.
Shot was well placed on heart/lungs. I was at a +-45 degree angle. (not ideal - however did not touch the intestines thank goodness) You can see the exit wound just above my scope.

I think I would gut her before bleeding her blood won't ruin meat like guts will, congrats on the your first
