Archery: Mathews Outback with Muzzy 125gr 3 blades

Muzzleloader: CVA Optima Elite 50 cal

Rifle: .300 WBY MAG (Vanguard), .270 WIN (interchangeable barrel system on aforementioned Optima Elite), .243 WIN (Remington 700)...mostly the Weatherby, not because all that power is needed, but because it is my favorite rifle with the best glass and the one I am most comfortable with. Like them all, however.

Mathews Featherlight bow
300 Wby Mag rifle.
T/C Hawken flintlock

Although I will spend most of my time hunting with my 9 year old so we'd be using his weapons. A Barnett X-bow in archery and one of two rifles in gun season. Stand/blind hunting = Sako 30-06. Still hunting = Savage youth 308.

I hope I can get enough time to actually hunt this year! I just got a new 308 and a 45-70 I want to try out! And a new muzzle loader! No bow though, I was thinking about getting a crossbow for next year though.

This will be my first time hunting for deer. Only my second time to hunt period. Last winter went Hog hunting and had a great time but saw nothing. So, I am currently weighing the options of weaponry. A friend who has been showing me the ropes took me to the range last week and we went over black powder and he let me borrow a Rossi muzzleloader in .45. Shot pretty nice. He also has a nice Knight .50 caliber that he is selling cheap. However, it is not the breakover type, it is the bolt type. Takes these little plastic things to hold the primer in place but seemed pretty easy. I may buy that off him.

At any rate. For muzzelloader I am using either the Rossi or the Knight if I can get it fitted for a scope.
For rifle, I am using either a Savage Model 99 built in 1924 cahmbered in 300 savage. Or the weatherby vanguard in .270. Have not confirmed that the vanguard is sighted in but that savage is one accurate rifle!
