Friends!
I hope all of you have a great New Year! That said, I am giving thanks for my friends. In 2006 I had surgery, and I don't know if it's mental or physical, but I have really lost a lot of interest in deer hunting. Since 06 I've harvested two deer and a couple of hogs. I just can't get pumped up about it anymore, so here's where the friends havecome in to it. A young friend of mine harvested a deer and brought it to me already cut up and iced down, this was a few weeks back. His friend came and got the deer and processed it for me. Then a couple that the first you man knows from N. Ga. and I met last year are down here camping and hunting with him, they brought me a deer iced down.
What more can a person ask for, than friends. Please be thankful for your friends, we don't get many good ones.

Although I don't enjoy hunting as much as I use to, I still go a good bit mainly because my 16 year old grandson enjoys it like I use to. I've given away a lot of deer, way over 100, probably close to 175 to people I hunted with, strangers and family members. I gave one to a woman that is a good friend of my daughters last week.
