New to the sport here, but it doesn't take a veteran to appreciate and admire what you did...well done, very humane.

That would have been me. opening day 4 of them jumped in front of my truck at 5:30 am. 3 of them made it cleanly by, the 4th brushed the bumper pretty good, and ran off.

Just off exit 119. A little north of the exit.

Don't they have antler restrictions around there ?

That was the last deer I saw all season. there're all roaming the roads, none are in the woods.

exit 119 off rt 17. Orange County

plenty of antler restrictions, 1/2 of zone 3.
3K & 3J & a few others have antler restictions.

all of Minniwaska park, and a few others.
been that way for YEARS ...

My opinion, you did him a favor. Not to mention the fact that you stated that you already got a nice 8 pointer already, so you also did the most ethical thing in my book as well. Good job, and he will be some good eating.

You did the right thing. WTG

You did the right thing. When I was a guide years ago, My brother or I would usually end up putting at least one down per year. The Fish and Game would usually give us our tags back if we wanted them. Most times, we'd just keep the one we had put down. I put an antelope down earlier this year and could have gotten my tag back if I wanted to but, I just kept him.
