hey guys, im kinda new but ive been reading around for a while and im sure this topic has been covered but in Virginia the rut is starting and should be in full swing by this weekend but i was wondering-
1-whats your favorite scent to use such as doe pee, or doe estrus brand wise
2- could you mix doe urine and doe estrus
3-should i spray it around my stand or just like on my boots/cloths
4- and what about buck urine during the rut how would it performe

I usually drink doe pee the night before so it gets a chance to permeate through my pores.

I don't use cover scents. I have a feeling they may hinder more than they help.

I find the best results if you drink it the morning before. I like to do it before my coffee.

do you use as a mouth wash when you brush your teeth too?

Oh, so that's what I was doing wrong! I have been known to put it in my coffee. From time to time.

I've tried every scent under the sun and can honestly say I've only killed one buck over any type of scent in 30 years of hunting. Now could it have helped me in situations that I wasn't aware of ?? That could be a possiblity.. I am trying the new VS-1 by Border Crossings this time. At some point someone will get it right because scent is a big part of the Whitetails world from breeding, social life and danger.

I'm no expert on scents, that's for sure. I have tried some and kinda like BigRidge said, no real convincing results. What I do know that ya gotta keep in mind what time of year it is before you lay down certain scents. Don't thow down a bunch of doe-in-heat or buck-in-rut down in September. They are smart enough to know that is wrong. I had some doe in estrous scent down Sunday morning and had a bunch of does come in, smell it and freak the hell out and flag and trot back the way they came. As 7.62NATO said, sometimes they may do more harm than good. Obviously I put it down to try to attract big daddy, but I would've been REALLY happy taking the 140 pound doe that I was about to draw on before she took off!

well its the rut here so i figured doe estrus would ok

also, how much of the estrus and/or urine should i put out, i dont want it to be an over kill


or should i just poor the whole bottle on my(ha jk)
