If your daughter is young enough to go on the youth hunt, she isnt ready to shoot 200 yards..... if you have not already gone over this stuff with her in pre-season and target shooting at 200 + then why take her and risk the animal, and risk her not enjoying the hunt over a lost animal.. something to consider.. personally with young ones id keep the shot inside 100 yards...
We are heading for the woods (under 100 yard shots) in the morning and I intended to go to a field in the evening but I am debating on the field because of the potential long shots. A week ago the deer were coming out in this field everywhere and a good number of them, but now they are coming out farther away and there are fewer so I think I might have to draw up another game plan. I plan on scoping out another field but this one is much smaller so the shots will be closer.

Both you and her should already know her limitations with the firearm and load she will be using. Since you did not know the bullet drop at 200 yards, it appears she has not shot at 200 yards.

Federal's 100 gr soft point load listed at 2960 fps will be 4" low at 300, if sighted in at 2.8" high at 100. Throughout the trajectory it will be no more than 3.2" high. Zero is at 250.

Close shots - aim for lower third of mass. Long shots - aim center of mass.

The only reason I didn't shoot 200 yards is because my field isn't that long. I could maybe stretch it out to 150.
