Thats what I am talking about!!! Your description of your hunt was right on time. Thats what hunting is all about to me. You got to get out and stretch your legs and spend some quality time in a stand that you had a good feeling about and got a chance at a deer. Even though you did not score you learned something and got some adrenaline rush at the same time! Plus you got to see a monster and a good look at some future shooters. You cant ask for much more than that for your first bow hunt. Good luck and thanks for the great story. I am heading out this Saturday and I am pumped.

yes it was definitely a great time. i was talking like a school girl about it for the rest of the night, lol. i am going back this saturday to sit in the stand and check my cameras. i put another stand up sunday next to a heavily used trail. and i put a camera on that trail so hoping to see some good ones on it also. i doubt im goin to sit in that stand yet though because even though the main trail is right below me there are others that some of the shots will be at 40 yards and im not that comfortable to make those kind of kill shots YET. but good luck to you saturday and hopefully the both of us can get back on here then and share some success stories!

Ah unit 15, now that sounds more like it. I haven't really explored that area but I did a wildlife project just south west of Medicine Lodge, and man there were some big bucks down there! Good luck this weekend. it sounds like you were seeing plenty more action than my areas, but hey, it's still early in the season yeah?

very early in the season and i will gladly wait to put the hammer down on a trophy even if it means waiting until rifle season!
