Smile My Intro.

Hey Everyone!

Found the forum while doing some searching for hunting discussion forums online and thought I'd join. Looks like there's quite a bit of activity here and more than enough reading to keep me busy for a while.

Anyway, I'm Scott. 36 years old. Finished up my online hunters education course per the WI DNR requirements (just missed the birthday cut off) and then have my field day to finish things up on Oct. 16th. Always been an avid fisherman and I love the outdoors in Wisconsin. My fiance and I do quite a bit of hiking. I also passed the WI Trappers Education Course last year and was lucky enough to do some trapping with a few members of the Wisconsin Trappers Association.

My friend and co-worker invited me up north this coming weekend to do some scouting with him and then invited me back to join him for deer hunting during the WI Gun Season starting on Nov. 20th. They have a relational cabin in their family that runs adjacent to a few hundred acres of public land. I don't believe there's any true trophy potential as far as I'm aware, but at this point - I'm just excited to be able to get out for my first hunting trip.

Never been hunting before in my life but my Grandpa and Dad were avid outdoorsmen, but unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to hunt with either of them. I'm looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can from the veterans and experienced hunters here on the forum!

Welcome!

Gotta say, I enjoy fishing, but fishing vs. hunting, I'll take hunting anyday.

I wish you luck this fall/winter, success will certainly help the addiction take hold! haha.

Either way a few buddies in hunting camp will certainly be a good time.

Thanks a lot, you guys! I really appreciate the welcome... I gotta say, this is a pretty extensive forum! Lots of great information and I'm definitely looking forward to hanging out here and doing some reading!

There's nothing quite like doing some light reading at huntingnet.com on a Tuesday evening while preparing to watch Uncle Ted on The Outdoor Channel.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome, everyone!

I'm really excited to be heading up north this weekend to do some scouting with my buddy. Unfortunately, we had an enormous band of storms that swept through her last night and most of the day today... it made things very wet and soggy to say the least.

Nonetheless, I'm bringin' my camera and hope to at least see some signs that there are deer in the area.
