Unlimited Doe?!

mauser in Va. they have a program called Hunters For the Hungry, any deer you don' t want all you have to do is field dress it and donate the deer, they skin and butcher it and give it to the needy, I bet Pa has something like that.

Maryland has that too...ever since the unlimited doe season came out, they been advertiseing it all over. In the 2004 hunting and trapping book, they tell you the places you can take the deer to for FHFH for each county. I took 5 deer last year, 3 of them being doe. I gave 2 of them to the FHFH program

Amen Otis,
The area I hunt in also has a 50% chance of receiving a doe tag. However in the two years I’ve been hunting, our luck hasn’t been very good. I hunt in a group (WMU 37) with anywhere from 7 – 12 guys. 2001 was a sweatpot weather speaking and we only got one doe. Then, 2002 was a bit better (three bucks and one doe – obviously the rut was on) but the meat didn’t go very far being split 7 ways.
I live in Southern Ontario, but I don’t have the $$$$$ to buy a shotgun or bow (you can’t use centrefire down here).

I live in Maryland and agree that the deer population is way to big. I try to kill big bucks and alot of doe. Only killed 1 buck last year and 6 doe. Get your trophy and your meat, help the deer population, everyone makes out in the deal.
