Question Is It Legal?

I was watching Ted Nugents hunting show last night and watched him shoot at least 5 to 6 Deer in Texas on a private ranch. How can so many deer be killed by one person and it not be illegal? .

Bluetick pretty much nailed it.

Many landowner have Managed Land Deer Permits.
In a nutshell a deer census and habitat study is done.
Then the state issues permits to kill X number of does/bucks
as they see fit to properly manage the herd.

Some ranches have VERY large numbers of permits.

Here's more than you probably wanted to know about MLDP.

It's been years, but I recall one year if everything fell into place for me, that I could take 5 deer with regular archery tags and extra management tags for even more.

Also, I've thought on some "ranches" or game farms that those animals didn't particularly fit under the state's normal hunting rules; instead under licenses and permits to have said operation. They're grown like chickens to pick and choose to kill as one wishes.

I believe that Ted Nugget lives on an extremely large high fence hunting property. The game on the property is managed by the property for the owners and outside hunters.

The show was not on Ted's ranch. In many counties in Texas, you are allowed to take 5, and, as noted above, more if the owner has management tags from TPWD.

Didn't he mention that the ranch mangagers wanted to restock and put new bloodlines in the ranch and they wanted to kill out the deer on the ranch?

I believe it. Here in sc I'm allowed 5 bucks and as many does as I can get my hands on. Not that I shoot that many. I'm from WI and was amazed at the game limits down in the south compared to the northern states.

99% of the time, he's hunting high fenced operations. They can kill whatever and as many as they want.
