Have you ever regretted killing a deer?

I know I don't post much on here and do a lot of "lurking." But I saw this topic and it made me think of one of the quotes that pretty much 100% explains how I feel.
"I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are far crueler fate than I bestow." -Fred Bear

The animals were placed on this earth for a couple of reasons:
1. To bring glory to God (The natural circle of life)
2. Meet the needs of man (Be my food)
So no I have no regret or remorse when I take an animal I am fulfilling its purpose here on earth. It doesn't have a soul or feelings only instincts to aid it in its purpose.

Never have been sad after killing a deer.
That's not saying I don't have respect for the animal,
but it is an animal. Food for meat eaters like us.
At a different time in my life I killed things for less
than good reasons. Some of those I feel bad about,
regret and even sad.
But not any deer that I've killed.

No I don't Recall
Over the decades, I don't recall turning down a thick juicy steak on the menu. Or turning down a delicious piece of venison. Especially the liver on harvest day.
No, and as an amateur chef I never turned down the chance to make a hunter's stew with venison.
I must have missed the imperfection somewhere in my life.

I never regret pulling the trigger on what I harvest. I go hunting to put meat on the table. If it is a buck I do a different process on the meat, but never regret it. Does need to be kept in check to keep the balance right. No regrets!!

If you have feelings similar to mine, that's OK, if you feel just the opposite, that's OK too. We are all hunters here.

what his comment has to do with, is my quote, he was responding to, where i said, deer are not aware of their own mortality, which was a response to another persons comment, about deer "knowing they made a mistake" just before a hunter shoots them.had nothing to with a deciding factor ,it was just a response to a comment, what about a response to a comment, you agree or disagree with, makes no sense to you? .
