Is anyone getting ready for the deer season yet?

I put out a trail camera yesterday and looked for an additonal tree stand location. I bow hunt in an easement behind my house in an urban environment. I've been chasing a 7 point for the last two years and hope to take him this year. I shot an inch under him last year, estimating him at 25 yards, when he was actually 31. (always use the rangefinder!)
He's smaller than anything on my wall, but he is the dominant buck behind my house and will be my first buck with a bow.

We started already but its hot down here in South Texas, you can only do so much in 100 degree weather. We are still clearing out some brush, but we have been feeding weekly. Still a long way to go before its ready for the fall.

Been hunting hogs down here in Florida (season open all year on private land),but still manage to get off a couple hundred arrows a week. Hell on arrows but I build them so cost is minimized as much as possible (use 8-10 dozen per year) Can't wait to get up to my property in IL. My hunting Partner has been doing preseason stuff, says we got some good stuff happening. Good luck and good hunting to all

I prep for deer season year round as well. But I manage to take some hogs and coyotes during the summer months the help ease my hunting anxiety.
Picked up a new lease this month. Good year for that as a lot of clubs are have trouble keeping members or recruiting new ones. Money is tight for most.

I put out a camera behind my house yesterday in the 3 acres of woods I own wedged between two large bean fields. Got pictures of 6-8 deer, including a couple of bucks, in the first 24 hours over the salt lick I have had going for the last 3 years.
I do need to go and check the shooting lanes from the trees I usually use, and I also need to wander on the adjacent 30 acres of woods that a friend owns and scout out a few trees and make shooting lanes.
I wish the weather would cool just a bit...shooting the bow in 93 F weather is not too much fun.
