That is a dandy buck. He woulda been a good one to take, but like they say atleast you got the rack for a euro mount.

Thats not something you like to find...But hopefully while he was doing all that running, he managed to leave some of his genetics for years to come..

That is the way I looked at it too. He at least made it through the rut to pass it on. And to i believe he will make a good pair of rattlin' antlers.

We are in the midwest bud. He could have been frozen since the end of november. Either way he is dead. WCL

Nice looking Buck....Its a shame You had to find it that way!

I found a nice 10-Point Buck on our Farm Feb 18 of this year,it looked liked he had been dead since Nov or Dec also? Our Neighbor behind us that also owns property about 1 mile down the road said he had shot at a nice Big Buck during Rifle Season and His Neighbor saw him limping a few days later with a shoulder wound...I think he crossed over several properties and laid behind the dead-fall tree's on our Farm and died!I have some really nice trail camera photo's of him all at night time (black & white) with my IR camera.I called our local Game Warden and told him I found a dead Buck and he sent me some papers/reciept on the Buck so it was legal to keep the rack.I ended up taking the 10-point Buck to my local Taxidermist and he provided me with a new Cape to have it made into a full shoulder mount instead of doing a European Mount.
