Had to go to the doctor anyway for the tetanus shot. Hook had month old worm goo on it. Figured he might as well remove it correctly than me trying to tear the barb out.

I have had treble hook in my belly . I was trying to get off a floppy little bass , and I put him against my belly to un hook him and he went into a flopping frenzy .

My 6 year old son was walking behind me with his rod. He tripped and the rod tip, with dangling hook, went into my hand. Then he drops the rod in the sand. The reel catches in the sand as I move forward and it sank it home. First day of a long 4th of July weekend on the lake. Everyone else was drinking beers on the dock when I went off to the urgent care center.

I made up for lost time when I got back and had a few beers of my own.

Wow, really sent that hook home too! Done it myself, worst was a Double Cowgirl (musky bait) last year. Sent the hook all the way under my thumbs nail till it stopped at the cuticle. Had my brother jerk it out after I soaked it in the cooler for about 20 mins to get it good and numb. Once the ice wore off, I was a hurtin SOB!

Those are always fun 60miles out in the Atlantic fishing the Gulf Stream. Most of the time it's push it through, clip it and back it out. Other times...well you just have to grit your teeth and snatch.
