My 6 year old son was walking behind me with his rod. He tripped and the rod tip, with dangling hook, went into my hand. Then he drops the rod in the sand. The reel catches in the sand as I move forward and it sank it home. First day of a long 4th of July weekend on the lake. Everyone else was drinking beers on the dock when I went off to the urgent care center.
I made up for lost time when I got back and had a few beers of my own.
