As others have said, it is all relative to the variables that you want to use. Wonderful deer hunting in terms of lots of trophy deer doesnt do you any good if there is no place to hunt because it is all posted and leased up and there is no public ground of any size anywhere near. On the other hand, deer hunting may be "bad' relative to other states in some places, but if you have all sorts of public ground nearby, then the hunting is pretty good relative to other situation where you are sitting at home because you don't have several thousand dollars for a lease.

Based on some of the deer my cousin has taken in Calcasieu Parish in recent years, Louisiana ranks up there pretty good. But then again, he has open access to about 14K acres of land to hunt....

I'll throw Kansas into the mix. Long seasons, many different seasons, big deer, not bag limits, buy tags over the counter. The only drawback is that you really need private land to hunt on.

Doesn't matter what state holds big bucks . You could live in Iowa and not even see a deer , or live in new york and see a booner . The managment plan is what matters .

No offense but florida?lol It has to be between Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, or wisconsin. Where ever the corn and soybeans are is where you see the biggens.
