I would have loved to Hunt a Deer and pose proudly like some of you. But Deer in India is among most Protected animals and hunting is a crime here. A famous actor was punished for 3 years Jail term for hunting a Deer

My first deer was a 5 point shot 30 years ago, I was 15 at the time. My dad didnt hunt so my great uncle took me and sat me down in his 4 acre purple hullpea patch. Shothim at 100 yards with a open sight 30-30. Thats all it took was hooked forever. Dont have any pics, but still have the rack.

6 pt in 1957. Doe permits very hard to get. But Dad would of kicked my butt if I ever shot a doe or even applied for a doe permit.

7 pt mule deer buck right outside of Casper Wyoming. I shot 9 does before I ever saw a whitetail buck while I was hunting. I just can't bring myself to shooting a button even with the high hunting pressure I deal with. First whitetail buck was a 5 pt that I was proud to death of. Dropped in his tracks when I shot, what a great feeling that was!

6 x 4 whitetail when I was 14. Beautiful deer, then a neighborhood dog or something dragged off the skull. All I have is one picture of it. Still kills me to this day.

First deer was a spike. Shot it with a Shakespeare "Wonder Bow" at about 15 feet, from a ground blind I made in the middle of a small swamp in south central Louisiana. I have no photos , just a precious, musty old "horn" plaque. That was the winter of 1962, I was just over 14. Took me until 1974 to ever get a bow shot at another !!! A fat doe at about 30 yards. I missed 4 times ! It kept coming back in. Last time hauled out of there, stepping on and breaking one of the aluminum arrows that was stuck in the ground. Both of those hunts remain fond memories. That swamp was drained into a rather large "hole" created during the construction of I-10 and there are dozens of $450K - $600K homes built in that "swamp" now.
