RE: Boycott Wisconsin

Success!!!

DNR license fees increase halted. Acceptable level recommended by senate.

Legislative order to rewrite the permanant package. Bait will not be banned statewide.

End of monies missmanagement. Order to stop land aquisition. Eminent domain put in check.

Order to sell state lands. Free up money for management.

We got what we wanted. The boycot, letters and petitions have worked.

We will regain control.

By the way studies as recent as 5-12-03 confirm CWD is a blood borne pathogen. Saliva is merely ingested and settles in the digetive system. CWD cannot be transmitted as believed in previous theory behind ban. go to www.stopcwd.org for papers search library.

We hope to end boycot by next week as we have achieved nearly all we were after.

Hmmmmm...but this was from the original article...

" The Marquette County hunting enthusiast is trying to launch a boycott of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, in protest of the board' s decision this week to ban baiting and feeding of deer statewide, to double the size of the chronic wasting disease deer kill zone and to allow the DNR to use helicopters in deer hunts if necessary."
Seems to me the zones are still expanded, and you still can' t shoot a deer with its nose stuck in a bucket of chum. Couldn' t say about the helicopter issue, but I haven' t heard that they changed on that one either. And you " won" what again? You think maybe, just maybe, the decision pertaining to lisence fees had nothing to do with your little temper tantrum?

" We hope to end boycot by next week as we have achieved nearly all we were after."
Ok. If you say so Sparky. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

Make a public fool out of yourself and then back-pedal to save face? Classic. LOL!!!

Iv' e stated this before, but TM never said he thought there shouldn' t be a ban on baiting in the infected zone, so I dont' know what you think he is backpedling on?

JRW , Todd' s becoming an expert at backpeddling!

Todd , the license fee increase to cover funding shortfalls was shot down by senate practically as soon as the motion was made! Had nothing to do with your boycott!

The legislative order to rewrite the bait ban is another motion! Means absolutely squat!

" Stop money mismanagement by halting land aquisition" ? That one really pisses me off![:@] Are you pushing for this crap? I dont know a single hunter that complains about the DNR purchasing more land for public hunting? I' ll gladly pay another $20 a year to gain more public land.

" Order to sell state land to free up money for management" ?[:@][:@][:@] Who' s side are you on? I could email this to a few friends and submit it to Wisconsin Outdoor News for publication and have ten times more people to boycott you and your agenda than your so called 300 supporters!

i don' t think banning baiting will stop cwd take a look at the fields in the spring of the year 100 to200 deer on the greeness ones . thats not concentraion of game give me a break.the real truth here is the rich always gets there way by banning baiting 5 and 10 acre joe just won' t have any deer on there land to hunt. but the rich mans 200 plus acre game preserve with food plots and whatever i might add that has programs for food plots that the dnr pays back to the landowner so if you have lots of land the dnr will pay you for your food plot. poor joe and his 5 acres. i guess he will just have to crowd that public land somemore hoping that a few deer from the richmans food plot will wander over there.i guess if i had 200 plus acres that i hunted on and had the dnr pay me for my food plots i would be against baiting to think about that for a moment.

Selway,

I don' t mean to sound like a jerk here but you' ve got to get out there and start asking for permission. Complaining will get you no where. My family owns 200 acres that we use strictly for hunting. But, I' ve got atleast a half dozen places other places to hunt than just the land we own. This is not counting public land. I' ve already been out this year and received permission for places to hunt this fall. Call me crazy and I might agree, but complaining will get you no where.

RE: Boycott Wisconsin

i' m not complaining i have many places to hunt . i just see hunting going the way it went in europe $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that being said lease hunting $$$$$$ guided hunt $$$$$$$ and the list goes on soon we will be fishing in a sewage cannel like the poor people in europe the rich are the only ones allowed to fish for salmon and trout.

I have never back peddled once in my life.

Straight forward I said the boycot was more than the bait ban.

Like it or not the Dept is out of control.

Private land is not a negative. We landowners can and do far better jobs at managing the lands. Pull up your belts and invest sometime instead of living off our monies.

I refuse to pay for lands I will never use nor open my land for the DNR to aquire by force. Folks need to look into the smart growth and sustainable lands programs and see the truth behind the land use issue.

Print away I love controversy. Love to see my name in print I am an egomaniac.

Hell I sent the article all over the state so many of the places you send to may have it already including our DNR secretary.

Ignorance is what has put our herritage in the position it is in.

I refuse to be ignorant and call it like it is.

Anyone remember the Milwukee Brewers and the 5 county stadium tax?

Another issue of a state agency alowed to run amuk. Tax the citizens for a private industry. We recalled state senator Petak with the help of thousands in Racine county constituants I ran in that effort. Today the 5 county region is locked into a tax that created a white elephant. How many sold out games have they had. You can get free tickets with a empty pepsi can these days.

Now the DNr tries to pose that they are bankrupt while increasing land aqusitions. Something is terribly wrong with the whole picture as they can' t manage the land they have now. The administrative costs alone are astounding. A butterfly resercher makes 20 grand a year. Imagine your hunt dollars going to study butterflies.

Honestly if this is the kind of DNr you want go for it but I will stand in defiance as they make more regs to hamper the overall experience while taking more of your money. You will have only yourselves to blame if you remain in the population of the ignorant.
